The City of Kerens, Police Department has Job Openings for One (1) Full Time Patrol Officer.

Starting Salary: 

$ 12.00 hourly Increase following a Probationary Period

Minimal Job Requirements: 

  1. Basic Peace Officer License
  2. Working knowledge of police work
  3. Understanding of Police policy and procedure
  4. Ability to communicate effectively and precisely
  5. Ability to create and generate sound police reports
  6. Ability to work with in a culturally diverse population
  7. Ability to work alone with little or no direct supervision
  8. Ability to make quick sound decisions
  9. Working knowledge of The Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and Penal Code
  10. Ability to work at least twelve (12) hour shifts.

Preferred Job Qualifications:  

  1. Basic Peace Officer License 
  2. College Credit Hours
  3. Police Experience (Patrol, Investigations, Juvenile Law)
  4. Law Enforcement Experience (Detention, Corrections, Court Room Intelligence, Evidence Collection and/or preservation or retention)
  5. High Level of Self Motivation
  6. Experience in Criminal Investigations
  7. Experience in writing Search and Arrest Warrants
  8. Experience in Court Room Testimony (District Level or Above)
